Employee Spotlight - Sue Mouck
This individual has been a part of Lassen Community College for 26 years. She has been the energetic force behind numerous projects and enterprises while serving in various academic and administrative roles.
She mentors, supports and encourages students, staff and colleagues in a positive and unassuming way. This individual is Sue Mouck.
Sue Mouck began her education at Santa Barbara City College. Later, she earned bachelors and master’s degrees in Biological Sciences from California State University-Northridge. During her graduate work, Sue found time to serve as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp.
Sue started her career in the community college system as a classified employee, transitioning to a part-time faculty position for seven years until becoming a full-time Biology instructor at Lassen Community College in 1987.
Outside of the classroom, Sue has served as the Curriculum Committee Chair, Academic Senate President, and the Accreditation Liaison Officer. Her work in accreditation since 2006 has helped the institution come out of sanctions.
Also, Sue has served as the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Instruction, President, and the Interim Executive Vice President of Academic Services at Lassen Community College.
Sue has a son, who serves as a graphic designer in the Bay Area. In her spare time, Sue practices her love of gardening while enjoying the beautiful flowers and the birds feeding at her home in Janesville.
