Rising Scholars at LCC!

Lassen College offers classes to all of our Rising Scholar students including people who are formerly incarcerated and those that are currently incarcerated.  For students who are formerly incarcerated, we have in-person and online academic counseling services, transcript evaluations, financial aid opportunities (dependent upon eligibility), and a variety of class options and teaching modalities including face-to-face, hybrid, hyfelx, and online.  Lassen College also offers many certificate and degree programs.  If you want additional information about all of the options, please contact the Counseling Department at 530-251-8842 or lcccounseling@lassencollege.edu .

Currently incarcerated students are eligible for classes through their institutions.  We serve students at Lassen County Jail, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Federal Correctional Institutions (FCI), and some out-of-state facilities.  Most of our classes for currently incarcerated students are offered through correspondence modality and a few classes are offered on the CDCR Canvas online platform.  Students receive academic counseling, some fee waivers (dependent on eligibility), transcript evaluations, and individualized educational plans.  Degree choices and certificate programs are limited due to instructional modalities. If you or someone you know is interested in college classes, the individual should contact their Educational Department at the institution.  General information can be requested by email: LCorrespondence@lassencollege.edu
