This academy equips students with essential knowledge and skills for entry-level firefighting, focusing on structural suppression. Key topics include firefighter safety, communication, equipment maintenance, fire behavior, water supply, ladder operations, forced entry, search and rescue, interior fire attack, ventilation, and fire scene overhaul.
FS 80 PRE-REQ: Complete free IAFF Online Fire Ground Survival Awareness class (IAFF- certificate presented to instructor on the first day of class)
FS 60.1 Recommended Preparation prior to enrollment includes: California FF1 Modules 1C: Willdland and 1B: Hazardous Materials or equivalent
NOTE: An additional cost may be incurred by the student for PPE Turnout rentals to meet the safety requirements for the Live fire components of the class. (approx. $400-$650/semester)
