May and June 2023 the Lassen College gym had its first major facelift since it was built in 1972. A new gym floor was installed and much needed paint has given the walls and ceiling a new look. This was a massive project that took so many people to make happen.
Special Thank you to:
LCC’s own Michealangelo – Dave Slama, who put in a bunch of time and effort into painting along with Chase Green and Milo De la Garza Dillard, who helped him.
The entire maintenance crew who was always there when something came up: Joe Morgan, Kenny Pritchard, Rick Collins, Nick Cardona, and Brennan Holquin.
The entire custodial crew who had to do a little bit of everything: Eddie Sager, Frank Sungino, Lou Tangelbad, Janet Butcher, and Tim Hooper.
Dan Williams, who facilitated everything, and Tara Harkema who also helped a lot.
Carie Camacho who helped allocate funding, along with all the admin, and the board for approving and supporting.
And anyone else who helped and supported this project.
It was a long process, but the end result is incredible. We hope everyone who can come check out the gym to please do so (just please wipe your shoes upon entering). Most importantly, come to games this fall and winter to support our student-athletes who always work hard to represent our college and community.
